Review of the Eddie Bauer Credit Card

Most of the credit cards that are limited to one store (or its sister stores) aren’t a good deal simply because you have very restricted use for them. The Eddie Bauer Credit Card designed especially for Eddie Bauer shoppers is no exception.

If, however, you find yourself to be a dedicated and loyal Eddie Bauer customer then it could be worth getting a credit card for. After all, if you’re going to be spending a great deal of clothes money at the store you might as well score some rewards against it too.

In this article, we’ll cover the basics of the Eddie Bauer Credit Card which includes details on APRs, fees, rewards program and additional benefits you can get while shopping at their store.

Eddie Bauer Credit Card: APR and Fees

The Eddie Bauer Credit Card offers customers the regular store card package. It doesn’t charge an annual fee but has a relatively high annual percentage rate (APR). The APR charged on purchases is 26.99%.

Other charges, such as cash advance fee and cash advance APR are not applicable to the Eddie Bauer Credit Card. You will be charged a late fee starting at $35 if you miss your monthly payments and have an outstanding balance on your card. Qualifying for this credit card isn’t a hassle and you can sign up for it at Comenity Bank.

Eddie Bauer Credit Card: Rewards Program

All of the Eddie Bauer promotional offers sound appealing at first but on a closer look we’ll see that that is not the case.

  • Earn 5% in rewards per $1 spent at Eddie Bauer
  • Earn 8% in rewards for $750 spent at Eddie Bauer
  • Get a special 15% discount on any purchase on your birthday
  • Exclusive access to members-only events

Eddie Bauer’s rewards program is also known as Eddie Bauer Friends. For those of you who haven’t heard of it before, it’s basically a store loyalty program and does not require customers to have credit cards to participate in earning and redeeming rewards.

If you do not have the Eddie Bauer Credit Card and would like to earn rewards, you can earn 3% in rewards on all purchases. This essentially means that having their credit card won’t earn you a lot more points than not having it – the difference is only 2%.

Eddie Bauer Credit Card: Additional Benefits

With the Eddie Bauer Credit Card you can save up to 15% when you open your credit card account and make your very first purchase. Cardholders also get free return shipping on items charged to their credit cards.

When you make your first purchase with your credit card at an Eddie Bauer store you become eligible for the Eddie Bauer Double Friends rewards.

Is It Right For You?

The Eddie Bauer store has its own loyalty program which makes it absolutely unnecessary to sign up for the credit card unless the extra 2% mean a lot to you. You can still earn a fair deal of rewards without signing up for the credit card.
